I was thinking while I was on the subject of Gucci Mane, I might as well point out the new Adult Swim Mixtape (what??). I mean, as a longggg time late night watcher of Adult Swim (Metalocalypse, Squidbillies, ATHF, and yes-King of the Hill), I was definitely familiar with the fact that there are some serious creative geniuses working at Cartoon Network. I guess I knew they did some musical things, after all Dethklok just put out a new album through adult swim entitled “Dethklok II”. The new mixtape is called ATL RMX and features the likes of everyone from EL-P, Young Jeezy, Young Dro, and Gucci Mane to Hollyweerd (he ain’t joking either with a song like “Have you ever made love to a Weird-oooo”).
The reason I mentioned it in regards to the previous Gucci Mane post is that the same Flying Lotus remix of Gucci Mane’s “Photoshoot” appears on both mixtapes having debuted on the Adult Swim one first. That’s gotta be a first in the music world. The mixtape is pretty much flawless and, until Diplo’s drop yesterday, was the best thing I had heard in some time. if you havent heard “ghostly swim”, you should check it out. it was another sort of mix tape from adult swim and was a joint effort between adult swim and ann arbors own ghostly international label and theres some really great stuff on there. i think it was released in late 2007 or early 2008 but i believe you can still download it from the adult swim site somewhere.
