Sorry to leave everyone hanging on it yesterday, but I’ve got something you’ll be able to brag about. While the rest of the world has been sleeping on it, I’ve been working diligently to bring you some new tracks from Hot Chip’s highly anticipated album One Life Stand set to drop Feb. 1st. 2010.
There’s is any indie pop sound that ranges from everything to dance inducing, fist pump ready jams like “Ready for the Floor” ofF the album Made in the Dark, to more introspective indie hits like “We’re Looking For a Lot of Love” of the same album. It was with this album they made their induction into the top 10 hits club, and rightfully so.
And while each successive album of theirs has been inching them that much closer to mainstream success and fame, it remains to be seen if One Life Stand will be that album. Sure, Made in the Dark and The Warning are the reasons they’ve been put in field position for a multi-platinum world-hit-of-a-record touchdown, but I don’t know if its going to happen. Sometimes I just think their sound is a bit too soft on too much of One Life Stand to really get them the radio time they need and deserve and get that recognition, outside of music snob circles, that is. Needless to say, Hot Chip fans will be Hot Chip fans whether they get radio time and peak at #1 on the charts or #100.
