Jass and James done it again… After a bang up 2009, Simian Mobile (Simian Mobile Disco or SMD) is kicking off the year right with their 2009 BBC Radio 1 essential mix. They ain’t joking either, this one is essential. As BBC points out, they’re responsible for some of the biggest indie-dance crossover hits of the decade.  Their 2009 album Temporary Pleasure was one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, and was definitely a game changer.  Recently, they’ve put out their first single of 2010 “Cruel Intentions”.

Take it back two years further and you have their 2008 live set done at Fabric night club in London.  Interestingly though, they’ve vowed 2010 will be their greatest year yet and will be entirely vocal free, and as Jass put it “strictly instrument unpleasant techno”.  The Remixes of their work are popping up left as right as they seek to make themselves circulate the electronic music community even more heavily (if that’s even possible) then last year.  The BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix starts with some of their better hits off of Temporary Pleasure like “The Audacity of Huge” and floats on to a rhythmic pantheon of trance, prog., electro, and even some more house-y stuff.

Plug in your head phones and get ready to float, rock, and dance.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Simian Mobile Disco’s Essential Mix 2010.
